About this site
My Morocco
I come from Nador. Apart from a few cities I hardly knew my Morocco. That is how this site came about.
I grew up in Dortmund; my family comes from Nador. What I knew of Morocco were the family's places and a few cities. The rest of the country was as unfamiliar to me as to any other visitor. This site is an attempt to change that, for me and for everyone who feels the same.
The map shows 85 places from the Rif to Dakhla, each with its own story. You pick what belongs to you, put it in your own order and pass it on, as a link or straight to WhatsApp or email.
Every statement carries its source as a footnote: the number after it opens the source, with the date it was checked. Where there is a primary source, an authority, UNESCO, the operator or a scholarly publication, it comes before the reference work. What cannot be backed up is not here; where sources disagree, the range is given. The site describes places; it does not judge.
You need no account: your selection stays in your browser until you share it. Relief, rivers and mountain names on the map come from Natural Earth.
